the chronological appearances of the individual forms o中国舆情
The aim of the present paper is to verify the conclusions of the current author's former research on time-expression in Western paintings by means of the analysis of the representative works in Chinese and Japanese paintings. The results confirmed the validity of the typology of the former paper, but revealed no unique ways of expressing time in them. However, the chronological appearances of the individual forms of time-expression differed between Oriental paintings and their Western counter-parts, and their importance in art history and the degree of sophistication were not identical with those of Western ones either. The results suggests that these differences between Western and Oriental paintings originated in the difference of their methods of space-expression, notably of perspective, along with their differences in aesthetics and their historical backgrounds.
